EDUCATION- MORE THAN JUST A 'PHRASE' OF WISDOM

Image
I am very passionate about the role of education as a drive in any human undertaking, and of course I am for the fact that education open doors; it has literally open my many doors to life. Here are some amazing and deep quotes on education for you to take home, and hope it impacts your reasoning with an amazingly positive energy.   ‘If you complain of neglect of education in sons, what shall I say with regard to daughters, who every day experience the want of i ... t? With regard to the education of my own children, I find myself soon out of my depth, destitute and deficient in every part of education. I most sincerely wish ... that our new Constitution may be distinguished for encouraging learning and virtue. If we mean to have heroes, statesmen, and philosophers, we should have learned women.' PREPOSTEROUS EXCUSE TO LITERACY OR EDUCATION??

Image
The 8-4-4 education system has had very many intellectuals through school but the Country (Kenya) is still the same. All through the primary education the students are trained to pass the exams, more energy and time is spent on not really learning but cramming in order to pass the exam. Why? Because, if you fail you will not go the next class, you will lag behind, you will be considered stupid. Why not focus all that energy towards critical analysis of the many subjects of education? Instead of training the students to repeat what you told them and mark it as right on the answer sheet, how about the teachers challenging the students to relate what they have learnt in class to their experiences outside school and ask them to write about those experiences in relation to your studies. Our education system locks so many doors of opportunities as far as talent and wider range of open thoughts are concerned. You may have not thought of it this way, maybe the students who passed found it...

YOU LAZY AFRICAN INTELLECTUAL

Image
Somebody please confirm otherwise. Aren’t we lazy in tackling development issues even with the increasing number of literacy levels in Kenya? It is the African intellectuals who do not dream big and are too lazy to save Africa from the nightmare called 'DEBT' and poor infrastructure and unstable economy. The poor Africans are the most hardworking, who toil and strive to live better lives. The education we cannot stop pursuing only brainwashes us to think white collar jobs, office life, 8 to 5PM job, and when we go to bed we do not dream ‘big’. You the educated African is lazy to think far to a stable Africa, and is selfish, all you want is a car, a mansion, a spouse, and two kids, and you do not give a damn how Agriculture, and tourism has been affected over the years.   We have imprisoned our own selves into silly dreams and are comfortable to live as far as our little dreams. We want the other person to make it a better place and be the first to tell the tale. I...

REST IN PERFECT PEACE CORY MONTEITH

Image
Today I woke up with sad news about the death of Cory Monteith.  He was found lying dead in his hotel room and the police has confirmed that there was no foul play connected to his death.  Monteith found love with his 'Glee' co-star Lea Michele, one lady that we all loved to watch. She is one lady that completes Glee.  He was so adorable, charming and talented.  He had been fighting drug addiction for a while and had even voluntarily reported to a treatment center with a commitment of getting over drugs. This was a fight that was supported very much with his girlfriend Lea and the rest of the Glee cast. This news is definetely sad but I go to bed with hope that I am alive and indeed need to leave a mark and smiles on the faces of people who cross my path!!! I thank God for the gift of life and the chance to make it right. I was definitely his fan. I would like to wish his family, friends and colleagues peace and good health in this trying time...
